The pizza delivery guy tried to fix my air conditioner

I thought the idea was dangerous and I dismissed the AC repairman from my home

A few days ago, the central AC in my house stopped functioning. It wasn’t blowing any cool air at all even though I had the thermostat set to cool. I called the apartment manager and told him that the central AC wasn’t blowing any cold air, and he told me to call the service number and schedule an appointment for repair. I called the service staff supervisor and they called an HVAC repair business, but while I was waiting for the HVAC repair to arrive, I decided to order some pizza for dinner. I didn’t want to turn the oven on and heat up the house when the AC wasn’t working. When the delivery guy arrived, I asked him to set the pizza on the table. He commented on the hot indoor air was and I told him that the central AC wasn’t working. He offered to fix the A/C unit and told me that he was working as an AC technician during the day. He wanted me to pay $50 and he promised that he could fix the problem. I thought the idea was dangerous and I dismissed the AC repairman from my home. I have no idea if the guy seriously could have fixed my AC problem, but I thought I should wait for the maintenance supervisor or the HVAC crew, however about an hour later, the HVAC technician showed up to fix the problem, and luckily, it only took a minute to complete the repair. I was almost finished with pizza when the cold air started to flow from the ceiling ductwork, thank goodness I didn’t have to spend all evening without cold air.
