The delivery guy tried to repair my cooling system

A few days ago, the central AC in my home stopped working.

It wasn’t blowing any cold air at all but I had the thermostat set to cool.

I called the apartment manager and told him that the central AC wasn’t blowing cool air. He told me to call the service number and to schedule an appointment for repair. I called the maintenance staff manager and they called a Heating and A/C repair business. While I was waiting for the HVAC technician to arrive, I decided to order some pizza for dinner. I didn’t want to turn on the oven and warm up the house when the AC wasn’t now working. When the delivery guy arrived, I asked him to set the pizza on the table. He commented on the warm indoor atmosphere and I told him that the central AC wasn’t now working. He offered to repair the problem and told me that he was now working as an AC professional during the day. He wanted me to pay $50 and he promised that he could fix the problem. I thought the idea was insane and I dismissed the AC repairman from my home. I have no idea if the guy seriously could have fixed my AC problem, but I thought I should wait for the maintenance manager or the Heating and A/C technician, but about an hour later, the Heating and A/C professional showed up to repair the problem, and luckily, it only took an hour to complete the repair. I was almost finished with the pizza when the cold air started to flow from the ceiling HVAC duct, and thank goodness I didn’t have to spend all night without cool air.
