I had to let my friend’s dogs out for her last weekend, when she was gone on a trip.
While I was doing this, I noticed the air vents in her home were clogged up.
I wasn’t even looking for that. I just happened to see that the air vent cover next to the table in the study room was off. At first, I thought that maybe one of the dogs had messed with the air vent cover, so I was going to put it back so one of them would not accidentally step into the hole. But, when I went over and reviewed it more closely, I realized there was a reason the air vent cover was not fitting correctly over the hole like it was supposed to. The whole air duct was literally covered with dog hair! It was so cold down there, that the air vent cover just could not stay on correctly. You would have to shove the air vent cover down to get it to stay there. Even then, it would not fit against the floor like it was supposed to. I was shocked to discover this, because the rest of my friend’s home is neat and clean. I had no idea they were having so much of an issue with dog hair in their HVAC system. I won’t mention this to her, because I do not want to embarrass her. However, she should change her air filters more often, and switch to a HEPA filter.
