When you’re young and dumb like I used to be, you fall for all types of hoaxes and/or scams… I was hoping to go housekeeping and not just get a rental unit.
I had been saving currency since I was a youngster, and I had enough currency to put down on a household.
I was hoping to acquire something current and shiny, and not something someone else had lived in before. My Dad told me to look into the modular affordable households, as long as I had the property, they would sink the well and sewage and set up the modular affordable household. I keep saying affordable, because that is what the sales person was telling me. She was asking the cheapest price of all other modular affordable household dealers, and I thought I wanted something far cheaper. The home came with all the furniture, which was pretty amazing because all I had was a dining room set. What started out as a mere $60,000 for modular affordable household and furniture was triple that cost when they added the set-up, well, sewage, and electric hook up. I wasn’t happy, and I went crying to my mother. She basically asked if I had put the down payment on the household? She told me I needed to start small. If I ended up getting married, my partner and I would purchase a loft together or something like that. For now, I needed to rent a household and make sure I was really looking to live alone. I was only twenty and had never been away from my old home. I still liked the idea of a modular affordable household, however I was going to do a good amount of research on the dealers, and not just choose someone because they didn’t cost too much.
