Having never been to a state fair, I wasn’t really sure what to expect.
I knew there would be baking contests, critters being judged, and rides for adults and kids.
I was told there would be people hawking their wares, however I didn’t expect there to be more modular kitchen areas than the eye could see. Every stadium I checked, there was someone with an original food being cooked in a modular kitchen space. I saw foods that ranged from deep fried candy to deep fried vegetables. There were more types of sandwiches and baked goods than I had ever seen in my life, and these items were being cooked in modular kitchen spaces. My child gravitated toward the cheesesteaks while I wanted a Gyro, so my buddy and I compromised and bought one of each and shared. By the end of the afternoon, my buddy and I swore my buddy and I would not be eating another meal for a long period of time. My buddy and I came back the next afternoon to find things my buddy and I hadn’t seen the initial time. State fairs are like our country fairs, and my buddy and I had a pretty nice time. I was cheerful that my buddy and I took this trip to the state fair. It was our last mother/daughter trip before she ended up getting married. She told me the only thing she had to be concerned about was fitting into her wedding ceremony dress. My buddy and I ate so much that my buddy and I both received almost five pounds, however when all those delicious smells were coming from the modular kitchen spaces, how could my buddy and I resist? It will be a pretty long while before my buddy and I have that kind of indulgence again. Perhaps I should say it will be a year before that kind of indulgence, because the actual fair is only once a year.
