The sun was shining through the window, but the window was cold.

My little boy was watching out the window the other day.

I saw him watching the sun coming through the window and he was put his hand through the sunray.

He said it felt good because it was warm. The next thing I knew, he was placing his palm on the window. He looked puzzled and wanted to know why the window was cold when the air was warm. I told him the air was warm because the house was warm. He went over to the air vents and felt the warm air coming through it and i told him the warm air came from the furnace. He knew all about the furnace because my husband was an HVAC technician. He understands that heat didn’t just come from the air, unless it was summer. He asked how the sun coming through the window could be so warm and the window stayed cool? He was only three and I wasn’t sure if he was old enough to understand. I started making up a story about sun fairies and how they had to have warmth to keep them safe. I even pointed to the dust in the sun, and he just looked at me. He told me that if I was going to tell him a story that wasn’t really about the furnace or air vent, I should ask daddy first, because his stories were much better. I was going to tell my husband about my story, but he got to his dad first. He added to the story, which made me look even worse. My husband told him girls don’t know much about HVAC.
