I have pretty much always been obsessed with science fiction, for as long as I can think back.
My dad had an old box of sci-fi novels from the 50s & 60s that I stumbled across in the attic one day.
I immediately became obsessed with space travel, teleportation, cloning, laser guns, & most especially robots. I enjoyed all of it! For a period of time I was so obsessed with science fiction that I stopped caring about science, or math, or English, or any other of my subjects when it came to school. Eventually, thanks to some guidance from my dad, I turned my adoration of robots into a work position when I got into the HVAC industry. Of course the bunch of us don’t use robots in my workplace, but the high tech workings of current day HVAC technology truly looks similar to something from a sci-fi novel. Because of my fascination with this industry I constantly do a good amount of outside research & studying about the latest HVAC device inventions. This past year I even got to go to the HVAC convention in Las Vegas, which was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Reps from all the major HVAC companies were there to demonstrate & explain their newest models & advancements in technology. One of them was beta-testing a new style of remote controlled drone capable of cleaning the insides of air ducts, however the HVAC industry is getting one step closer to robots, it would genuinely seem! I am not sure if my boss will send me to the HVAC convention again this year, but I am totally pressuring him to do so.
