When I was a child, the internet was still on its baby legs pretty much.
- I honestly had to use a horrible invention called dial-up, which used your phone line to connect to the net.
It was brutally slow, as well as downloading even the smallest file took approximately an hour. While you were online the actual phones wouldn’t work, except in cases where an incoming phone call totally disrupted your internet connection. Kids nowadays don’t seem to even understand how great they have it with Wi-Fi connections, because they have never known anything else! Another thing that younger people don’t seem to fully like is current Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C machine technology, which has come a long way over the years. My child Ted has a smart temperature control in his residence, one that can even respond to verbal commands. This means that his children, who are not even tall enough to reach the temperature control yet, can set it exactly how they want. When Ted was a kid he knew better than to touch the temperature control, because only I was able to do that! In his residence he lets the children adjust the temperature control whenever, as if he doesn’t care how high the energy costs happen to be in his place! I always have to lay down the law for the children when they come to my residence, because they feel they can control the temperature control here, as well. That is not how I roll! Just like when Ted was a kid, they are never allowed to adjust the temperature control. If climate control genuinely needs adjusting, they have to ask me to do it for them in the first place.
