I don’t know that I’ve ever taken on something as difficult as picking up a family and moving them out of state.
This was difficult on so many levels.
Financially, emotionally and full stress wise, that move was super tough. We had to move because of a career choice for my wife. I’m pretty easy since I work from home inside the central air conditioning. Having watched what my wife goes through, I’m not sure I could handle working inside the commercial HVAC of a corporate office. Just too many politics and drama for my taste. But my wife has a way of being able to just kind of let it roll off her shoulders and not worry about it too much. So she has to play it strategically in order to get where she wants to be in the corporation. This was never more true then when she was encouraged to take this job and we all supported her in that. But there were still plenty of long nights inside the air conditioning talking it over and trying to consider all the risks and rewards. But ultimately, we chose to move and I had to take care of almost all the details when it came to moving. But believe it or not, my local HVAC company did something just so kind. They actually put together a list of the highest rated HVAC companies in the area we were moving to. That just blew me away and made it just that much harder to pick up and move from that community. And sure enough, the one at the top of the list is now our local HVAC professionals.
