I wanted my dad to give me money, but I feel proud to use my own money that I earned
I wanted some money to fix up my car and take my girlfriend on a date. I asked my dad for some cash and he refused. I was surprised because he never refused in the past. Instead, he offered me a part time job at the HVAC repair shop. My dad is the manager of an HVAC repair shop. He has worked for the company for twelve years. He practically runs the entire business, since the owner never comes to town. The guy lives about a thousand miles away. My dad has been running the show for three years or more. My dad told me that he would be willing to give me a part time job, if I wanted some money. I agreed, because I didn’t think my dad was going to give me money otherwise. On Mondays and Tuesdays after school, I go to the HVAC repair shop and work for three hours cleaning the shop. On Friday nights and Saturday during the day, I stock shelves and work outside on the grounds. I earn about $200 every week to help with car repairs, gas, and money for dates. I wanted my dad to give me money, but I feel proud to use my own money that I earned. When I take my girlfriend to the movies, I use my own money. When we go to dinner, I use my own money. Even though I never get to go anywhere on Friday nights because of work, Saturdays are a lot more fun now that I have some money to spend.
