My mom always said that bad luck comes in threes.
She has always said that, from the time that I was a little kid. I don’t know where she got this old superstition from, but the older I get, the more I think that maybe she was right about the whole thing all along. I don’t know if it’s really true, but I have started to notice that whenever I have any problems around my house, it seems like they come in sets of three! Last month, I seemed to have one bad thing happen to me after another. At first, I got the bad news that we had some mold down in our basement. We all freaked out about it and I had to call a mold specialist to get rid of all of that terrible stuff downstairs. After that, my refrigerator in the kitchen decided to just stop working after we have only had it for about four years. The appliance specialist that I called said that it could not be fixed and we would just have to get a new one so that was another huge expense for us. By this point, I was just waiting for the other boot to drop to find out what else was going to happen to me. It turned out that it was a problem with our air conditioning system! Our central air conditioning system stopped working and although it’s almost fall, I decided to go ahead and have it repaired so that I would not have to worry about it next summer.
