I have always been totally obsessed with science fiction, for as long as I can think back. My mother had an ancient box of sci-fi novels from the 50s and 60s that I stumbled across in the attic one afternoon, and I immediately became obsessed. Space travel, teleportation, cloning, laser guns, and most especially robots, I loved everything! For a while I was so obsessed with science fiction that I chose to stop caring about science, or math, or English, or any other of my subjects at school. In time, thanks to some guidance from my Mom, I turned my admiration of robots into a career when I got into the Heating and A/C appliance industry. Of course every one of us doesn’t use robots in my work, however the high tech workings of modern Heating and A/C technology certainly looks very similar to something from a sci-fi novel. Due to my fascination with this industry I always do a good amount of outside research and studying about the latest Heating and A/C inventions. Last year I even got to go to the Heating and A/C appliance convention in Las Vegas, which was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. Reps from all the critical Heating and A/C companies were there to demonstrate and explain their modern models and advancements in technology. One of them was beta-testing a modern type of remote controlled drone capable of cleaning the insides of HVAC ducts, and the Heating and A/C industry is getting one step closer to robots, it seems! I am not sure if my boss will send me to the Heating and A/C appliance convention again this year, but I am pressuring him for sure.
