I needed new ductwork.

The HVAC technician came to the house last week to inspect my furnace. Unlike the people who lived in the Northeast and needed their furnace in October, I didn’t need mine until November or December. When the HVAC technician arrived to do my inspection, he checked the ductwork at the same time. I wasn’t prepared when he told me the ductwork needed to be replaced. I didn’t know how much it was going to cost, but I was fairly certain it was going to be expensive. I sat down with the HVAC technician and asked him how much it was going to cost? He said I had a couple of options. He could install ductwork like the tin ductwork I already had installed or they could go with a flexpipe. Flexpipe would last longer and we wouldn’t need to worry about it rusting. Flexpipe wasn’t as sturdy and it would need to be inspected regularly to make sure there was stress on it, but it was much cheaper than regular ductwork. He said he would send the HVAC contractor to the house, and I could talk to him. It took a couple of days for the HVAC contractor to arrive, but it wasn’t cold outside. We had plenty of time to get the new ductwork installed before winter arrived in our area. When the HVAC contractor arrived, we went over my options again. After going through my HVAC system again, he said he thought flexpipe ductwork would be a good option for me, and wrote up an estimate, and told me I could get one-year the same as cash credit on the ductwork and the installation..
