I loved my new HVAC system, but I was rethinking my decision to purchase a smart thermostat instead of another digital programmable thermostat. The HVAC technician had me convinced the smart thermostat was the way to go. Even though I didn’t do any travelling, he made it sound like it was the best thermostat I could ever purchase. It has now been two weeks since the smart thermostat was installed and I hate it. It has notified the HVAC company three times about potential problems with the HVAC system. I had the fire company come to the house because the smart thermostat had sent out an alert to the HVAC company and the fire company. I called the HVAC company and told them I wanted the smart thermostat removed and a normal digital thermostat installed. I said I didn’t like the new thermostat and I was tired of all the alerts it was sending out. I got at least four alerts every day to alert me to possible errors with the HVAC system. .I decided that if no one showed up in the next couple of days, I was going to remove the thermostat and put a different in on my own. I was tired of putting up with all the mistakes the smart thermostat was making. I was beginning to think that instead of it being a smart thermostat, it was the stupidest thing I had ever had in my house. Once the new digital thermostat was installed, there were no more alerts, and my HVAC system was working just fine.
