When I was a youngster, the internet was still on its baby legs… I had to use a horrible invention known as dial-up, which used your phone line to connect to the net.
It was super slow, in addition to downloading even the smallest file took an hour… While you were online the phones in your home wouldn’t work, except in cases where an incoming call cut off your internet connection.
Kids today genuinely don’t know how wonderful they have it with WIFI, because they have never known anything else in the slightest! Another thing that younger people don’t seem to fully appreciate is new Heating in addition to A/C equipment technology, which has come a long way in recent years. My son Bobby has a smart control component in his property, one that can genuinely respond to verbal commands. This means that his little ones, who are not even tall enough to reach the control component yet, can set it the way they wish. When Bobby was a kid he knew better than to touch the temperature control equipment, because only I was allowed to do that! In his lake property he lets the kids have free reign over the HVAC settings, as if he doesn’t care how high the energy bills are! I constantly have to lay down the law for the kids when they come to our property, because they have the impression that they can control the control component here, as well. That is not the case! Just like when Bobby was a little one, they are never allowed to touch the temperature control unit. If the HVAC settings need to be changed, they have to ask me to do it for them.
