Zone control

For the past year, I’ve been working from home.

The complications over the spread of Covid-19 led to a restructuring of my supplier as well as my job responsibilities.

I’m now able to complete all of my responsibilities online. Although I miss some of the socialization of the office environment, I appreciate to be at home. I’m now more accessible to my teenagers as well as more comfortable in a pair of sweatpants. However, I still need to be focused as well as productive. I’ve found that it’s simple to get distracted by household tasks. I have a difficult time ignoring dirty dishes, dirty laundry, the dog as well as the temptation to run errands. It’s necessary for myself and others to shut the door of my office as well as close myself off from everything however work. After the first month of myself and others working from home, I was shocked by the cost of my electric bill. It was nearly double what I usually pay. I then realized that I was rapidly running the a/c all afternoon long. I used to adjust the control unit to conserve energy when I left in the afternoon. I saw no need to cool or heat an empty house; Now that I was at home, I was keeping the control unit set to the ideal level for comfort. Although I was strictly occupying 1 room, the whole apartment was getting perfectly cooled. I called up a local HVAC company as well as asked what I could do about this expense! Following his recommendation, I’ve updated to zone control. A series of valves were installed into the duct system that regulate the flow of heated or cooled air. There are independent control unit mounted in each room. Through an app on my iPhone, I’m able to control the temperature. I target heating or cooling at my loft office while in the afternoon. I make sure the residing space is comfortable when my teenagers arrive loft from school.
