The weather was extremely cold and wet on Friday and traffic was at a standstill downtown.
There was an accident on the freeway and the police were doing their best to clear all three of the cars.
Traffic went from four lanes to one lane and there were miles of cars stretched out on the highway. I was on my way to a commercial boiler repair. A customer called the repair service a couple of days ago and scheduled the boiler repair. I contacted the customer a couple of times, but I did not get any answer on the phone. I thought about canceling the appointment, because the customer did not answer. Since they called several days previously, I decided to head in that direction while calling a couple more times. I was a few miles away from the boiler repair, when a car ran me off the side of the road. I saw the car fly by my work truck and the car in front of me stopped. I swerved to avoid the car and I ended up in a ditch. Thankfully, I didn’t have to call a tow truck to get the work truck out of the dirt. When I arrived at the address for the commercial boiler repair, I immediately saw the same car parked in the space in front of the building. I asked the owner of the company if it was his car and he said yes. Then I asked if he just came from the freeway. As soon as I asked, the guy came up with a bunch of reasons why he was in such a big hurry.
