What happens if the a/c unit doesn’t work?

When I moved into my home, the previous owner refused to let my partner and I have inspections done.

I almost walked away from the house, since I was allowed the inspections.

Instead, my realtor told us that every one of us could put a statement into the contract that if there is anything wrong with the home upon final clients inspection, they would be responsible for it. I could not believe every one of us were buying a home that didn’t have an inspection done on the heating or a/c. I was worrying about a faulty chimney and having fumes build up while I was sleeping. I could not imagine living here without a/c, not to mention the oil furnace. My partner told myself and others to quit worrying because the a/c would be replaced, if that is what was needed, long before summer, and the oil furnace would be replaced in a couple of weeks. That was long before every one of us were moving into the house. The owners of the home weren’t honestly gleeful about our codicil, however if they didn’t spend money for disfigures before every one of us purchased the house, every one of us would be walking away. The day before closing, every one of us had a general business go through the house, and an Heating as well as A/C business evaluated everything that had to do with Heating as well as A/C. He even evaluated out the small fireplace facade to make sure it was working correctly. He told us every one of us needed a current Heating as well as A/C idea within a year, and he thought every one of us should fight to have the owners spend money for it. I was willing to go halfsies with them, but he said to go for a full imbursement prior to closing.
