It was charming
I just didn’t realize how overheated it happened to be in the South when I planned our family getaway. We went to a popular theme park down there and had a 5 day pass… I just have to say, it was brutally hot, humid, and uncomfortable. To make things a great deal worse, the lines for the rides were hours long. The first few days I was able to tough it out with the kids however was unquestionably grateful for the air conditioner machine in the little gift shops and restaurants around the park. I managed to feel the cooling air from the buildings as I was walking by. There were times when I would go into the shops to look around just to cool off for a few minutes. At the end of every afternoon, I was completely cheerful to get back to our hotel room and lay back with the air conditioner machine. By the third day, I just wanted to take it easy so I left my partner with the kids while I relaxed in a single one of the several restaurants with excellent air quality and temperature control settings in the theme park. Of course, I knew both of us would switch places again on the fourth day. I had to be out there in the heat with the kids once again. But on the fifth day, I didn’t even leave the comfort of the A/C machine in the hotel room. I sent my partner out while I was able to enjoy the air conditioned room and study for the length of the day. It was charming. The kids never seemed to be bothered by the heat and they had a blast. I am delighted both of us took them on this marvelous trip although I wish I had planned it at a cooler time period of the year.
