Last week was certainly one of the scariest weeks in my entire life, every one of us had a absolutely bad storm come through and it completely wiped out the power grid in my area.
- I had to go a week without electricity and maybe I am being dramatic, even though I thought that I was going to die! However, what concerned me more wasn’t what I didn’t have, but it was the other people in my area.
The area that I live in is well known for having high levels of crime, and with all the lights being out it was a pretty scary experience. However, that still wasn’t the worst section of it. The worst section of having no power was not having the Heating and A/C system running. I was not one of the fortunate few people that had generators, and the people I was with and I were in the middle of summer time and so going without the cooling system suddenly made everything hot and hot. It didn’t take me long to start perspiring before I was running for my iphone. I have a smart temperature control and I was habitually opening the app to turn on my cooling system, only to remember that it wouldn’t toil and so I had to go with the next best thing. The next best option was the fans, and I took more than one fans and put them on and started to enjoy the cool air. I was absolutely ecstatic to have them, I had always kept a few small battery operated fans in my home in case anything like this were to happen, and it felt fantastic to be prepared. After a absolutely long, and dark week, finally the lights came back on as electricity was restored.
