Before my boyfriend and I can move into our new house, we need to make some repairs.
There is a big hole in the floor and all of the plywood needs to be replaced in the living room, dining room, and kitchen.
The roof is leaking in the spare bedroom and the whole area will need a fresh coat of paint. The furnace also needs repairs before we move in. During the initial inspection, my boyfriend and I found out that the furnace was not working. The problem was a cracked heat exchanger, a costly expense. My boyfriend and I called several different heating companies to get an estimate on fixing the cracked heat exchanger. Unfortunately, it seemed like the best option was to replace the furnace due to the condition and age. We have an appointment to make all the repairs next week. It’s cold outside, so we can’t work on the house until we have some heat. It should take two or three weeks to renovate the inside of the house and then we are planning to move in. The furnace is one of the first and most important repairs to make. Today, we are going to pick out new furniture for the living room. I’m excited to go to IKEA. I haven’t been there before, so we are planning a special trip to the closest location which is still 3 hours away from home. My boyfriend said he will foot the bill for all of the furniture as long as I don’t make him look at sheets, blankets, duvets, and pillows. He hates shopping for linens!
