I get really nervous when I am under pressure.
I’m terrible with tests. It’s one of the reasons why I decided not to go to college. Instead, I chose a career in a technical field. I decided to go to school to learn heating and AC repair. I also am certified to work on refrigeration issues. One of the biggest reasons why I chose the career is due to the fact that heating and AC repair technicians work alone and on their own. They barely have to speak in meetings or talk to a lot of people. I’m not good at speaking in public and I have a hard time articulating my thoughts and opinions. A couple of weeks after I started at my first heating and AC repair company, the boss wanted to spend all day with me on an AC repair. The guy wanted to watch the process from the beginning to the end. I felt completely and totally nervous and I stumbled a couple of times. I probably looked like a beginner in front of the guy, but I was just nervous. I completed all the work properly, but it took about an hour longer than it should. After I was done, my boss didn’t have a lot to say about the AC repair. That made me feel even more on edge. Thankfully, a couple of days later we sat down to talk about the repair. The boss knew that I was nervous and worried about the job, but he assured me that I was doing very well and things looked good.
