It felt like forever, but it has finally arrived! The day I am to retire from 40 years of being a certified heating and air conditioning specialist.
I have enjoyed the career I had in heating and cooling.
However, like everything, there comes a time where you need to slow down and just do something else. And in my case, because I was doing another career before the heating and air conditioning business, this is my final retirement. I am about to be 70 years old and it’s time for me now. My last day on the job at the heating and air conditioning company they threw me a retirement party. Instead of getting the usual watch you would get at a regular office job, they ended up giving me a nice large cash bonus for my retirement. Much better than a cheap watch that you will never use! Everyone was so wonderful that last day and they all said they were going to miss me. But they understood that I have worked all my life and that it was finally time to retire. I am going to enjoy the rest of my life now and honestly not even think about heating and air conditioning unless my own central heat and a/c unit was to break down. Then at least since I was a certified heating and air conditioning specialist, I will be able to fix my own central HVAC system and not have to spend a lot of money calling the same exact HVAC company I left.
