Putting in Ductless Mini Split in Mother-in-Law’s Tiny House

I bought a gigantic shed with the intention of turning it into a mother-in-law suite at my house.

I had the shed delivered to my backyard, and I proceeded to call a plumber and an electrician.

I told the plumber I needed a bathroom and a sink as well as a small kitchenette. I told the electrician that I needed lighting and HVAC. I was thinking that I would just get central heating and cooling like I have in my own house. When I told him that, though, he looked at me kind of funny. He said it would be very costly to put in an HVAC unit for essentially a one-room house. His recommendation was that I look into getting a ductless mini split air conditioning unit. Tell the truth, I didn’t know there was any kind of heating and cooling unit that didn’t need ductwork, other than a window A/C. Hey, I did a little internet research on different kinds of HVAC for tiny houses and I did indeed discover that many people who have a tiny house decide to get a ductless mini-split heating and cooling system. I don’t always do what everybody else does oh, but I really liked the idea of it. As a matter of fact, I went on vacation one time and the little house that I rented had mini-split AC in the bedrooms. I was very impressed at how cool they kept the rooms. I know they have to be inexpensive to run as compared to Central Heating and Cooling. And I definitely didn’t want to hook that system up to my system in my existing house. Anyway, I now have a tiny house in my backyard and whenever my mom is ready to move in I have a place for her where she can have her independence but still be near people who will help her with her daily living.
