In the winter months of the year I have a special time of the day set aside for myself.
That is late at night where I sit by the fireplace and read a book.
And yes, I have a real fireplace in my home! I am lucky enough to have a real fireplace because I bought an older home. And when I bought it the fireplace was already here. Although the fireplace needed some work before it could be used, I put out the money to get the fireplace all fixed up so I could enjoy and relax with it. Also I have to say that this fireplace has saved me a little money on my energy use as well. Sometimes I would be able to use the fireplace and not have to turn on the central heater until I went to bed. That is how good and warm this fireplace kept things. And it still does. In the summer time months obviously you do not use the fireplace. I end up instead reading a book on the couch at night with the lights dimmed and just a lamp over me with the central air conditioning running. But in the winter, my special time of the day with a book and the fireplace is something that I really look forward to after a very long work day. It really is good for me to help me wind down and relax. I really think I am so lucky to have a fireplace in my home. Not many have a real authentic fireplace these days. They have electric fireplaces and gas fireplaces which I call fake fireplaces.
