The last time I stayed at a hotel I was on the 8th floor and had a balcony that was right by the rooftop heating and air conditioning system.
Being right by the rooftop heating and air conditioning system was not something that I was very happy about.
Because it was a commercial heating and air conditioning system and these things are very loud! When they are running and when they turn on and off. So when I was trying to sleep I would sometimes get woken up by the rooftop heating and air conditioning system when it would come on and turn off. When it was on and running I could sleep by zoning in on the white noise of the heating and cooling unit. But then when it shut off and everything would go all quiet again it would wake me up. I complained to the hotel for putting me in this room. I said to them that they should not have any rooms near their commercial heating and air conditioning system. Especially the rooftop heating and air conditioning system. How is it that no one else has complained? At least that is what they told me. All I do know is that after the experience of having to deal with the rooftop air conditioning and heating system and their response to my complaints, you will never see me staying at this particular hotel again in the future! The nerve of them putting me right by the rooftop air conditioning and heating system and even having rooms that were that close to it is horrible.
