My Dad called me at the beginning of the week. She said that she heard a unusual sound in the ductwork. She swore that the sound was a squirrel or a rabbit. I tried to tell our Dad that it was impossible for an animal to get inside the ductwork, however she told me that she could hear the sound of footsteps in the middle of the evening. Since I work for a local Heating and A/C repair corporation, our Dad decided to call me instead of the repair service. She hounded me everyday until I decided to stop by after work. I spent most of the morning searching through the ductwork. I easily thought our Dad was going crazy. I did not hear any noises and I did not see a single speck of dust in the ventilation ductwork. I did not see any sign of animals in the ducting. I was going to supply up and eat breakfast and then I heard a low squeaking sound coming from under a single of the ventilation ducts. I shined our flashlight in the direction of the sound and I saw a tiny mouse. The animal was sacred and shivering. I have no idea how the mouse ended up in the ductwork, but I was really surprised to see the little critter. I tried to catch the mouse, but I was unsuccessful. I told our Dad to put a couple of traps in the attic. The mouse will eventually get caught and then the problem will be gone. My Dad wasn’t ecstatic to kill the mouse, however she was weary of listening to the footsteps at evening.
