I toil inside a fitness center that athletic interests more than one sizable indoor swimming pools. Much of my toil is administrative, as I’m 1 of the numerous people toiling in the office behind PCs. I answer cellphones, organize files, and create signs and posters to put at weight-lifting stations, on treadmills, ellipticals, and the racquet ball courts. It’s a good task that pays well and isn’t too demanding most afternoons. The worst afternoons at toil involve miserable buyers trying to weasel their way into gym membership discounts, which are forbidden outside of holiday promotions. But you’ll occasionally get a girl coming in claiming that she signed up on Memorial Day but magically isn’t in any of the security camera footage from that day. In all honesty, this doesn’t happen all that often. Right now my hardest task is finding a local print and copy store that offers laminating services and waterproof printing. We put up safety signs around the pool for insurance reasons and the 1s I’ve been creating get wet and disintegrate within a few afternoons. I finally told my boss that both of us should get the signs laminated so they’ll be permanent.
