I just acted like I was trying to fix the central air conditioner to get her off my back.
I know how to fix HVAC units. I have been fixing HVAC units ever since I was a teenager. My dad might not have been an HVAC technician, but he was very skilled at fixing HVAC units, and he wanted me to be prepared to fix HVAC units in the future if I ever needed to. However, I do not like fixing HVAC units. When I graduated and moved out onto my own, I did not become an HVAC technician. In fact, I vowed that I would get a job that paid enough money so that I would never have to worry about being able to hire an HVAC technician. However, ever since my wife learned that I know how to fix HVAC units, she has been nagging me about it. She says that we could use the money for something else if I actually fixed the HVAC units. I have always declined and told her that I do not remember how to fix HVAC units, but she wanted me to try at least once. If it did not go well, I could continue calling the HVAC technicians. When the central air conditioner broke, I humored her. I acted like I was trying to fix the central air conditioner, but I wasn’t really trying. I kind of just goofed off while she wasn’t paying attention. After a few days, I declared that I could not figure out what was wrong with the air conditioner, and we called the HVAC technician. She would kill me if she found out.
