I wanted to redo my house in the style of the 19th century.
I saw these appealing brass air vent covers in a museum & I swore I was going to have them over my air vents.
I would not want to do without heating, ventilation plus A/C, & the smoke from fireplaces did nothing for me but make me sick. I went to the local house center & saw if they could find these air vent covers & deliver me a price on them. When I showed up at the house center, I found the woman who worked in the section that handled air filters, air conditioning units & air vent covers, & I showed him the pictures. I followed him over to the counter where you did the ordering. She showed me strange air vents covers that looked enjoy pictures I showed him, but none were exactly what I wanted. I’m not sure if they weren’t what I wanted because they looked strange or because of how outrageous the pricing was, but I opted not to purchase them. I was hoping to go to an auction or to a yard sale & find the same air vent covers I was looking for. If I don’t find them, I’ll purchase some ornate air vent covers or maybe I’ll buy some air vent covers that have the same coloring. If that isn’t possible, I’ll find some metal paint & figure out how to make the air vent covers I have look enjoy they are 150 years old.
