I think I have come up with the perfect idea for what happens when the HVAC system breaks down. It seems they have insurance for nearly everything now. When I heard there is life insurance for your pets, I had to laugh. I have normal insurance, but not for my pets. All I have is fish, and I was wondering how many dollars I would be charged for a fifty dollar fish life insurance policy and what I would get in return. They also have insurance against the mechanical failure of your car. With all of these ludicrous insurances, I couldn’t understand why someone doesn’t have insurance on HVAC systems. I know they have home warranty insurance. These will cover some cost, but everything is prorated. Why not just make an insurance policy that will pay for eighty percent of the cost of repair and replacement of the heating and/or air conditioning? I’m sure it would be too expensive for the normal person to have. My insurance is having a maintenance and repair agreement. This allows my warranty to remain in effect. When the HVAC is out of warranty, I may consider an extended warranty. I know how expensive it is to purchase a new HVAC system. I would rather keep my HVAC equipment running properly for as long as possible and not worry about how I will pay for it when it finally quits working. Better yet, when the HVAC company tells me that I will soon need a new HVAC system, I will put the house on the market. I think I will just leave the headache of purchasing a new HVAC, to the new owners.
