I am really getting tired of this darn thermostat.
It seems like there are just non-stop problems with it.
I am not exactly sure what the problem is, but a lot of times it either won’t respond or the screen will go blank. I am hoping these issues will end soon, because I am having a heating and air conditioning specialist come out today to take care of the problem. I was honestly beginning to believe that I would have to get a new thermostat. I was looking online and new thermostats aren’t nearly as expensive as I figured. I have a dial thermostat, and it would be nice to upgrade to something like a smart thermostat. When the air conditioning specialist came over, he took a look at it and declared it needed to be cleaned. Cleaned? That was the issue? I honestly didn’t believe him, because it had been having issues for a long time, surely it must be something else. But no, after the air conditioning technician took time cleaning the thermostat, it was working back like it should, and I was shocked. I didn’t realize that thermostats even needed to be cleaned. I had never cleaned the thermostat, ever, and I have lived here for 8 years! Since then, it has been working like new and I am glad. I still might replace it in the future with a smart thermostat, but at least it saves me money for right now. I thanked the HVAC specialist for solving the simple issue, and told him about possibly getting a new thermostat in the future, and he agreed that a smart thermostat is a great device.
