My fiance consistently puts kindling in the fireplace before every one of us go to bed at the cabin.
The people I was with and I aren’t in the beach house all day, & a little bit of morning heat goes a long way, so every one of us light the fireplace in the morning, & let it slowly burn out.
A couple of days ago every one of us were at the beach house doing some preparations for Christmas. The people I was with and I knew every one of us had two months before Christmas, however every one of us had to make sure everything was in working order. The first thing every one of us did was clean the chimney, & then the fireplace & hearth. After every one of us completed the most important things on our list, every one of us patched some shingles that came off the roof, & started working on the inside. All of the rooms needed to be aired out & cleaned. The people I was with and I figured that over the next more than four weeks, before the holidays began, every one of us would spend every weekend cleaning & decorating, before family started arriving. The people I was with and I spent the entire holiday season in our cabin, entertaining family & friends, & readying for Christmas, which was the climax to our holidays. Last weekend, every one of us knew every one of us were in for a rough weekend. They were calling for snow showers in that area. My fiance brought wood onto the porch & had it sitting out there in the wood bin. There was enough to get us through the entire weekend, although he hadn’t laid kindling in the fireplace. It was twenty-two degrees when every one of us woke up, snow was piling up outside, & the wood for the fireplace was wet. It was going to take a bit of coaxing before every one of us got any heat from the fireplace.
