This was a new, fresh, smart vehicle with a functioning AC system
For a long time, I drove this old, beat-up truck. It was a gift from my grandfather, and I think that was why I kept it around for so long. Despite my parents’ protest, my grandpa began teaching me how to drive when I was 9. While other girls were doing girly things, I was under the hood of some vehicle learning basic mechanics. My mom tried her best to teach me lady stuff, but my interest was more in mechanics. This is why I later went to study mechanical engineering in college. Grandpa started teaching me how to repair and drive this truck when I was nine. He later gifted it to me when I was 14 but wouldn’t legally drive it until I turned 16. Except for getting me from point A to B, nothing in the truck seemed to work, including the AC. There were many summers when I longed to have the AC unit in the truck working. But, having it fixed costs a small fortune. I opted to leave the windows open while driving to provide natural air conditioning. The money I made from my many jobs was for buying a new car. When I turned 19, dad added me the remaining amount, and I bought a new car. This wasn’t a second-hand that would have issues here and there. This was a new, fresh, smart vehicle with a functioning AC system. I loved the fact that I didn’t have to drive in summer without AC, but I never got rid of the truck my grandpa gave to me. It’s still in my garage, and soon I hope to get the heating and AC system set up.
