The side of the office building that I work at is regularly uncomfortable, but apparently the temperature control in this office does not work right because our side of the building does not seem to get any air conditioner or heating; Management works on the comfortable side of the building and they keep the control machine set at a temperature that is comfortable for them! Us subordinates have to suffer without acceptable heating or air conditioner, and our side of the building does have heating and air conditioner vents, but the air never seems to get to us for some reason; In the Summer every one of us dress down in the lightest clothing allowable.
In the Wintertide every one of us use blankets and portable furnaces just try and stay comfortable… The portable furnaces blow the fuses though and the employers keep getting mad at us for using them.
I guess several times in one week was the final straw because management finally decided to call out an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C service company to come and look at the issue. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company found out that the HVAC duct is completely jammed off leading to our side of the building. It is full of dust, debris and even old paperwork dating back to the 20th century. Apparently somebody thought the HVAC duct was a garbage can. Anyhow, once the ducts were all cleaned out, the entire office building started feeling much more comfortable. I feel love I might actually not freeze to death while doing our job now… Nonetheless, it’s pretty nasty that the HVAC duct hadn’t been cleaned out and at least 30 years… You would guess that something an office employer would make sure was taken care of at least every few years… But then again, nothing surprises myself and others at this job anymore.
