My mom is moving in with us this month whenever she has surgery done on her right knee.
We are going to help her for a few months but I am worried about what it’s going to be like whenever she moves in.
Whenever I was still living with my mom when I was a young adult, it was not a good situation. We used to fight like cats and dogs all the time over everything. I hope that now that I am older, it will not be the same way. I have my doubts about it though. Of course, since I am an only child, I am the only person that she can go and stay with during her recuperation. I really don’t mind helping her out at all, but I just don’t want us to fight about everything while she is here. One of the things that I am worried about is the fact that my mom hates to use the air conditioning. When I was a kid, she barely ever turned the air conditioning on in our house at all during the summer. At my house now, we keep it freezing cold all the time. That’s just the way that we like it. I know that she’s going to have a lot to say about the temperature settings on our thermostat when she comes to move in with us. I am not about to be uncomfortable for the next two months just because my mom is cold, though. I think I’m just going to end up giving her a lot of extra blankets and shutting her up in her room with a little space heater or something. She is not going to like that, but I don’t know what else to do.
