Every year my city hosts a winter festival that brings in tons of tourists.
Every major business wants to participate in the vent.
It is a good money maker and great for getting your name out there. The stores that sell clothing, jewelry, hats and shoes have it easy. They just get a folding table and rent a space. They flop their merchandise on the table and take payment via square. Well a restaurant owner like myself is a bit stuck. I specialize in smoothies and paninis. I need to have electricity, water and plenty of room for food prep. I need at least a grill top, cutting area and a sink. I looked into buying a food truck just for the event but it was too expensive. For years I just couldn’t participate in the event. I then talked to another restaurant owner that does it every year. I found out what all the food businesses are using. They contact a progalbe facility company and get a shipping container for the week. They can design a modular kitchen all online and have it shipped ready to use at the event. When they are done, the company picks it back up. It is that easy. Yes a portion of the profits goes to paying for the facility, but it is more than worth it. I have already designed my space and I am ready for the winter festival. I am going to participate this year! I will have plenty of space to do all my meal prep and have a worker in there with me too.
