Is this “smart” thermostat broken, or the internet?

No matter how many times I link my thermostat to my internet and my phone to my thermostat, it doesn’t stay online for more than a few hours

I don’t know why people want to build technology on top of new technology. It feels like we live under layers of gadgets that all feed into each other, but rarely work as well as we’d like them to. When you have issues with one device, you never know where to begin your troubleshooting because everything is operating together on the basis of the internet these days. Can we all just go back to analog devices for a while and see what humans are still capable of on our own? Unfortunately, this gadget on gadget lifestyle has recently been my downfall, too. A few months ago I called the local heating, cooling, and air quality control dealership and I thought I made a big improvement in my heating, cooling, and ventilation system. I arranged for a smart temperature control device installation, so I could easily control my indoor heating, cooling, and ventilation system from anywhere. My old central heating and cooling control plan was a basic thermostat that didn’t allow for programming indoor temperatures. I hated that my energy bills were always so unusually high from the indoor air temperature control plan running 24/7 at one set temperature. I wanted to be able to turn off my indoor air temperature program when no one was around to save on cash. But this new “smart” device has not been impressive. The smart thermostat never stays connected to wifi so I can use it. No matter how many times I link my thermostat to my internet and my phone to my thermostat, it doesn’t stay online for more than a few hours. I can’t change the HVAC settings and my thermostat has a life of its own. I don’t know if I should complain to the internet company or my HVAC provider.
