Dad was trying to explain how to do some work in my new house.
Since he was many miles away, we spoke on video chat as he taught me how to check the plumbing and electric work.
He’s a trained HVAC expert, plumber, and electrician with over 5 decades of experience. Before he retired, his HVAC corporation always relied on dad to train the young experts coming from the trade school. Most wanted to specialize in one area, but a few wanted to be like my dad. His training hadn’t been as rigorous when he was coming up. Dad told me there weren’t many HVAC schools back then, but later, he had to get his certification when the rules changed. Now, he’s retired, living in a lake house in this amazing location. However, he drove to see me when he realized I needed him because of all the work pending in my new house. Dad was there when the HVAC work in the new house began and was happy to lend a hand to the HVAC crew. There was an HVAC technician whose dad had taught when he joined their corporation some time back. He’d moved and was now working for a new HVAC company. The guy was over the moon explaining to his workmates how skilled my dad is at HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. Having dad there when the work was happening was a huge plus because he ensured I got the best from the HVAC crew. I had to get a new HVAC system set up in the house to go with all the other new appliances and devices. This remodeling was the best thing because dad got to put his skills to work.
