Our house has been so cold lately, and I can’t figure out why. There’s never really been any cold spots or heating issues in our house before, and the rest of our HVAC system seems to be running just fine. We had our regular heating and air conditioning tune up about a month ago, and the HVAC technician said that everything looked fine to him back then. Granted, the weather outside has been cooling off a whole lot in the month since our last heating and cooling tune up. The temperatures now are probably about 20 degrees cooler now than they were back then, but I still don’t think it should be so cold in our house. I’ve been trying to get our thermostat to keep up with the demand that I’m putting on it, but it’s almost as if our heating system just wants to fight with me about keeping the house at a comfortable temperature these days. The cold spots are the worst. Here and there throughout the house, I will run into spots that feel like they aren’t being affected by the heating system at all. I called the local HVAC company that we do business with and explained the cold spot situation to them. The HVAC technician that I spoke with said that sometimes cold spots come up whenever there’s a leak or breakage in the ventilation ducts. The HVAC company is sending an HVAC technician out tomorrow to check my ventilation ducts for me so we can get the cold spots figured out as soon as possible.
