School has always been interesting, but I admit not to be the highest performing student.
That was my friend Maggy who always topped the class.
We grew up in the same area, and had so much fun together. But, when she excelled in books, I was more of a work with my hands type of person. Still, we made sure to maintain our friendship, and never make each other feel bad. When we graduated from high school, Maggy went on to an ivy league university. She had excelled in her SATs and went on to join the university of her dreams. As for me, I stayed put and went to HVAC training school. I didn’t want to struggle getting into college only to do a course that I hated. Instead, my folks encouraged me to find something that I loved to do. I said I wanted to become a Heating and AC technician like my grandpa. He’s no longer with us, but when he was around, grandpa was a wizard when it came to HVAC systems. There was no heating or cooling system he couldn’t fix or install. We went on a couple of jobs together when I was younger and he always said he’d hoped to set up his own Heating and AC business. However, that idea was shelved when my grandma fell sick, and there were hospital bills to cover. So, I promised my grandpa that I would make sure his dream came true. HVAC training school went so well because I got to study something that I liked. I recently got my HVAC certification, and I’m looking for work. I plan to work for someone else for about 5 years, and can now fix my folks Heating and AC for free.
