Now that another person had mentioned it, grandma joked that her hearing was failing
I went to visit my grandma last summer after a long time apart. This was a surprise visit because she still thought I was in the city. I remember facetiming her from the airport, but she thought I was in my office. Little did she know I was about to board a flight to see her. My grandma lives in a rural area in another state. So, when I landed, I hired a vehicle so that I could get to her house. Grandma was tending to her goats when I drove up, and she was so shocked to see me. We’ve always been close, and I was there for 4 weeks. Grandma scolded me for not informing her that I was on my way, and then helped me unload all the things I’d brought for her. Jeremy, her farmhand, came up to help carry the big boxes, and took them into the house. When I arrived at the farmhouse, I noticed there was a strange noise coming from the AC. I heard it, Jeremy heard it, but not grandma. I realized she wasn’t aware of the strange AC noise when I asked her about it. Jeremy said he’s mentioned this to my grandma, but she said she’d not heard any strange noises from the AC. Now that another person had mentioned it, grandma joked that her hearing was failing. I told her it was important to contact a HVAC company to send a technician to the farm. They would check and ascertain the source of the strange AC noise before things got worse.
