Our roofing contractor accidentally knocked down our kids’ playhouse

It turns out that it was a good thing they had insurance, too, because one of the roofers who was driving the truck to collect pieces of the old roof accidentally backed right into the playhouse and basically crushed it

My husband helped my kids build a big playhouse several years ago and it sits over on the side of our house in the yard. It’s really cute. It’s one of those playhouses that looks just like our main house. It even has little window boxes with flowers planted in them. Anyway, my kids play in the playhouse all the time, and sometimes they even sleep out there when the weather is nice. Well, a couple of months ago, we hired a local residential roofing company to come out and do a complete roof replacement on our house. Our roofing and gutters were pretty old. I think they were probably about twenty years old or so. We had never had a roof inspection done or anything, but we noticed that some of the shingles were coming loose and every once in a while, we would find bits and pieces of the roofing scattered around the yard. When we got a leak in the ceiling in the kitchen, we knew that it was probably time to call in a roofing professional. The guys that we ended up hiring had great reviews and they were licensed, bonded, and insured. It turns out that it was a good thing they had insurance, too, because one of the roofers who was driving the truck to collect pieces of the old roof accidentally backed right into the playhouse and basically crushed it. My kids were beside themselves, but the roofing contractor handled it like a professional. Within a week, he had a crew of his contractor buddies there replacing the whole playhouse. They made it even better than it was before, plus they put a great new roofing and gutter system on it!
