My modern flooring, which doubles as our modern furnace, has entirely spoiled me.
At this point, I barely ever wear shoes anymore, and i have never liked wearing shoes, ever since I was a little kid.
I would consistently run around barefoot outside as long as it was possible to do so, but even when the weather started cooling off & the rapidly changing temperatures outside got cold, our mom said that I used to try to go outside in the cold without any shoes on… Of course, she would never let me & I would just get mad about it; Now that I’m an adult, of course I could go out without any shoes if I wanted to, however I have to divulge that when the weather starts cooling off in the fall, our feet do tend to get a little bit too cold these days. It must have something to do with getting older! Anyway, when our local heating & cooling worker was here at the end of the summer, he started talking to me about unusual sorts of heating systems while he was working on our central A/C unit… He said that he would request something called a radiant heated flooring system, which I had never even heard of before. After he told me all about it, though, I told him to sign me up! They came & installed our radiant heated flooring a few weeks later, & I particularly love it, the floors in our family room, our bathroom, & our home office are all heated now & it keeps the rest of our home cozy too. I wish I had known about this type of heating method years ago!
