Last week I called the HVAC company because I wanted to have servicing done on my furnace.
- I couldn’t believe the answer I got when someone answered the phone.
She asked, ‘How can I direct your call?’ and I almost laughed out loud. I ended up chuckling and she realized what she said. She chuckled too, when she realized she was the only one there at the moment. Then she wanted to know what I needed and if it was an emergency. I told her I needed to have my furnace serviced but it wasn’t an emergency. She thanked me for being very patient with the way she greeted me and she hung up. I sat there staring at the phone and I suddenly realized that she hadn’t set up an appointment to have my furnace serviced. I picked up the phone and called her back, to have the same greeting. I wondered what she did in her spare time she answered the phone so oddly. When I said hello, she recognized my voice. I told her I hadn’t made an appointment for furnace servicing. She apologized again, but this time it was for being so scatterbrained. I chuckled again, but I was a bit annoyed. I asked her if there was a HVAC technician in the office and she told me they were all out on emergency HVAC calls. . She was the only one handling the office since 7 that morning and it was already 6PM. I felt bad for her, but there wasn’t anything I could do to help her.
