My uncle was one of the best Heating and A/C professionals in the city.
He was also the fatherly category who wanted all of his customers, especially the younger ones, to understand why taking care of your Heating and A/C unit was so important.
Being his niece, I didn’t mind him talking to myself and others and telling myself and others what was important, but I was sure his customers didn’t like his unsolicited advice. I started talking to some of our friends who also used our uncle as their Heating and A/C techs. Everyone I talked to entirely loved him. They said he was the most amazing Heating and A/C tech, and he also made them assume comfortable. My best neighbor said she felt enjoy he was part of the family instead of working for them. I was talking to our uncle the next day and asked what made all the people look at him as something more than a Heating and A/C professional. He shrugged and told myself and others he didn’t think he did anything different. When they questioned why they should take care of their heating and a/c, he said he answered them. I thought of the stories he told about different customers and how they mistreated their Heating and A/C system and blamed the manufacturer or the Heating and A/C business. I realized that by just being himself, our uncle did his job and endeared all the people to him. I paid more attention to his stories, and I realized there was a lesson to be l received from every one of them. I l received how to change an air filter, and what to do in case of an emergency. Why did it take myself and others listening to our friends and neighbors to find out how good an Heating and A/C tech and uncle he was?
