Drainfield and sewer repairs

One thing I don’t mess around with is my septic system… If there is anything wrong with that section of the house, I call a professional right out. I make sure that I don’t flush anything wrong down the drains. I never flush a tampon, tissue, or anything not meant for the toilet! My sink only gets water, toothpaste, facewash, and mouthwash. I frequently do some plumbing repair on my own. I use my own snake to make sure my drains are clean and I even take off the toilet from time to time. I am that scared about having a block with my septic system, but well I recently went outside and stinked something foul. I instantaneously got on the phone because I figured my septic tank needed to be pumped; The guys came over and pumped my septic tank however it wasn’t full. They still did the job and I paid them. They informed me the issue was a drainfield one. I had a leak in my drain field. I needed to have the lawn torn up and substitute all the drainage in there. The plumber I hired did all the work for a satisfactory amount of money; He showed me seasoned drainage and then his finished product, but you can tell my drainfield was designed in the 73s where materials were cheap and flimsy! Rather than flimsy pipes I have sealed PEX piping that works like a dream… Even the configuration is way better. The lawn has since been fixed and there are no more foul smells. I am hopeful that is the last of my drainfield troubles.
