I regularly hear from folks who have recently moved to our section when it comes to the heat of the warm season.
While it’s no secret that our warm seasons are overheated in addition to humid to the extreme, it’s another thing to experience it for the first time.
And several people who are new to this region tend to overdo the air conditioner settings. That’s just sort of the reaction. If it’s entirely hot, just adding more Heating, Ventilation plus A/C cooling will solve the complication. As one who grew up with this sort of heat, that isn’t necessarily true. Pouring on the air conditioner settings can sort of make the complication feel worse really. I tell all the newcomers to the section the same thing, about the weather conditions to the heat. That means when the temperatures begin to rise in the Spring, start decreasing to the heat. Instead of going directly for the temperature control, pump the brakes on using the air conditioner button for a while. This allows the body to become more accustomed to the higher temperatures. And by the time the real heat of summer comes around, Heating, Ventilation plus A/C cooling in moderation actually feels great. For instance, when it’s creeping up to a hundred outside during the warm season, a temperature control setting in the low 80’s feels entirely cool. This also saves a good amount of currency on Heating, Ventilation plus A/C utility costs as well. So don’t just crank on the air conditioner to deal with the heat, get used to it.
