After further inspection, I saw 1 measly little space furnace in the corner of the room.
As a educator, I spend most of the afternoon in my classroom or in the hallways nearby my classroom… This space is my new home base plus it’s where students plus educators come looking for myself and others when they need me, so there isn’t truly much of a need to leave it, and i have it decorated the way I want it plus I typically keep it set to a warm, but comfortable, temperature! Rarely do I hear students complaining about it being too tepid or too cold! However, I walked down to the auditorium earlier this month to pull a student that was in there for chorus plus I couldn’t believe my esure! It was actually frosty in there! All of the students plus the chorus educator had their overcoats on. It felt savor there was no heat running through the auditorium at all. It was as if I felt a 20 degree temperature drop as I walked through the door. After further inspection, I saw 1 measly little space furnace in the corner of the room. This was almost comical because the auditorium is likely the greatest room in the whole school! There is no way a small space furnace was doing anything but taking up electricity, but when the afternoon was over, I spoke with the chorus educator about how frigid it was! He told myself and others that the heat had not been working in the auditorium for months. When he submitted a service ticket to our administration, they said they would be able to send in some Heating, Ventilation and A/C specialists over our next school break, which wouldn’t be for numerous months. Apparently heating plus cooling is too much of an expense for our school budget. I am outraged!
