Back before the winter, we got our furnace tuned up. I usually don’t get the furnace at our house tuned up professionally, but this past year, I decided that I should probably just go ahead and do it. I am one of those old school people who always reads the Farmers’ Almanac, and it said that we were going to be in for a really rough winter this past year. Since it warned us all about the terrible winter that we were supposed to have, I got a little bit nervous about our old oil furnace. We have had the same old oil furnace in this house since we moved in here almost five years ago. I hate to admit it, but in all of that time, I have never hired an HVAC company to come in and take a look at the heating system. I am honestly surprised that the whole thing hasn’t broken down before now. I really should be a much better steward of our things and our home than I actually am. I guess I just was thinking that if it wasn’t broken then we didn’t need to fix it. However, this past year, I was really glad that I ended up getting the oil furnace checked out by a professional heating and cooling company. They actually found some components in the furnace that needed to be replaced. Thanks to the HVAC technician, we didn’t have to go without a furnace during the coldest part of the winter! I’m really glad that I broke down and had it done.
